Coyote Rising Characters...
Wendy Gunther
Wendy had was brought aboard the Alabama by her father, Eric Gunther, who was a loyal URA party member, responsible for sabotaging the mission, if the Alabama, as indeed it did, fell into the hands of conspirators. He was captured however, and committed suicide aboard the Alabama, leaving a young Wendy orphaned, light years from home.
She was adopted by Kuniko Okada, the colony’s Chief Physician, and formed a close motherly bond with her. As a teenager, she was part of the ill-fated Montero Expedition, led by Carlos Montero, after the colony teenagers decided to run away.
Childhoods are hard on Coyote, and the harsh reality was that many of the children on Coyote were orphaned within months of arriving. She had a relationship with Carlos, and a brief affair with his friend Chris Levin, which saw Wendy return to Liberty pregnant.
Under the guidance of Captain Lee, the leader of the colony, and elected Mayor, and her adopted mother Kuniko, she gave birth to the first child to be born on Coyote, a baby girl she named Susan.
Wendy matured vastly from her experiences, and gained the respect of a lot of her fellow colonists, and eventually married Carols Montero, father of her child. She was elected to the town council, and was part of the diplomatic team who rendezvoused with The WHU aboard The WHSS Glorious Destiny, upon its arrival, documenting the event in her memoirs.
However, adult life on Coyote was by no means a breeze either… Wendy had military training from her time in The URA youth training camps, as a child, and when her husband became leader of the resistance movement against The WHU, she found herself using this training to protect her child…
