Coyote Rising Characters...
Robert E Lee
Robert Lee was the commanding officer of The URSS Alabama, and mastermind behind the conspiracy to steal the ship, and liberate the colonisation project from the corrupt and repressive United Republic Of America.
He successfully led his team to Coyote, and became Mayor of the small but sufficient settlement they built, naming it Liberty. He was intensely private and enigmatic, and highly respected. Over the years, he made several important decisions, always with the best interest of his people in mind.
One of which was installing a command into the A.I of his ship, which would warn him of any unidentified activity in the supposedly isolated atmosphere above them. When the colony was four years old, the ship contacted the main console in his office in the town of Liberty, and gave Lee an important pre-warning that activity had been detected… a ship…
On a diplomatic mission, Lee intercepted the ship aboard a shuttle, and made contact with the captain. There he met Matriarch Hernandez, captain of The WHSS Glorious Destiny, where he learned that the ship had departed from Earth only forty-eight years ago.
When it became clear that Hernandez intended to bring her 1000 colonists to Liberty, a concerned Lee organised an immediate council meeting, upon his return to the settlement.
He knew the colony could not accommodated any further bodies at that stage, and no-one was enthusiastic about the prospect of their four years of hard work being taken advantage of by the new-comers. The Alabama colonists reluctantly made the decision to abandon Liberty, and from a new settlement, to the east, in secret and independent from this new, potentially over powering force.
They were able to do so, and founded Defiance, a town deep in the Midland forests, camouflaged by the dense canopies above. Lee remained in his role as Mayor, and continued to act in the best interests of his people. Over the years his dark hair was streaked with silver, and his beard ivory white. A wise figure, Coyote’s oldest, most respected individual.
However, the presence of the new arrivals was constantly felt, and Lee knew that one day the Matriarch would come looking for them…
