Coyote Frontier Characters...
Lars Thompson
Lars Thompson same to Coyote aboard The WHSS Glorious Destiny, with his uncle, Clark, Aunt Molly, and brother Garth. Becoming disillusioned with the poor standard of living in the Shuttlefield slums, Clark and his family fled, and formed a small fishing village north of Liberty.
When more followed, the settlement grew, and a small ferry was constructed to cross the channel into Midland, and hunt. It was here that the Thompson’s met the Regil Kent Movement, the Resistance group led by the original colonists, against the oppression of the Western Hemisphere Union.
While Clark was sympathetic to their cause, and joined because of his distrust of the Union, teenagers Lars and Garth were perhaps attracted to the militaristic nature of being involved in a movement, who could only rely on sabotage, theft of weapons, and guerrilla tactics.
When the Union marched into Thompson’s Ferry, the Thompson brothers both played their part in the retaliation against them. Fleeing with the family to the Midland settlement of Defiance, Lars joined Regil Kent, and took pleasure in killing Union Guard soldiers on patrol near by.
However, once the war was won, and the Regil Kent movement disbanded having served its purpose, Lars had trouble letting go. The nature of being involved in a war throughout the majority of his childhood had twisted his mind, and that of his girlfriend, Marie Montero, brother of the recently elected President of Coyote, former Regil Kent founder, Carols Montero.
Lars and Marie continued to cause fights, even after the Union had left Coyote, and constantly found themselves in the stockade.
Together with Marie, Lars was exiled from Liberty for six months, given a limited supply of rations, and instructed to sail uncharted areas of Coyote, for the benefit of the colony, in the hope that the expedition would straighten them out…
